No, it is not necessary. If your vehicle is in running condition, you may consider dropping it at our collection facility or our executives can collect it from your provided address for pick-up. If your vehicle is not in running condition, we can tow it to our collection facility.
Yes, we accept all types of scrap or end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). Depending on the missing parts, the price of the vehicle gets determined.
Once the deal is finalised, our executives will schedule the vehicle pickup at you earliest convenience. Usually, vehicle pickups happen within 48 hours.
Yes, you can. When scrapping or recycling a vehicle, it is not required that the registration certificate be valid.
Yes, it can be. You can donate your vehicle and we have a tie-up with an NGO called Nanhi Kali where the proceeds from your vehicle will go. The NGO works for Girl Child Education. The organization runs programs that support free primary education for girl children from underprivileged backgrounds. You will be receiving an 80G certificate for the price of your vehicle from the NGO.
Before you hand over your vehicle, make sure to check the glove box, trunk, door pockets, under seats, sun visors and any other storage area for personal belongings. It is also suggested to take a photograph of your car in you have any fond memories with it.
CERO follows a 5 step dismantling process staring with
1. Safe removal of hazardous fluids & gasses (like engine oil, fuel, AC gas, etc.)
2. Dismantling of body parts (like doors, hood, seats, etc.)
3. Dismantling of underbody parts (like wheels, exhaust, axle, etc.)
4. Chassis number cutout for record compliance.
5. Baling of steel hulk
All parts are segregated, stored separately and sent to authorized recyclers.

During vehicle recycling, materials such as ferrous and non‑ferrous metals, plastics, rubber, glass, batteries, electronics, and fluids are carefully separated for recovery. These materials are then sent to authorized recyclers ensuring they are safely processed and sustainably reintroduced into the ecosystem.
To scrap a vehicle, keep all essential documents ready including the RC, ID proofs, bank NOC (if applicable) and clearance of dues while also removing personal belongings from the car. Choose a government‑authorized Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) like CERO to ensure legal compliance and to obtain a valid Certificate of Deposit.
When you call or submit your vehicle details on our website, we will make an initial offer based on your vehicle’s make, model, and year of manufacture, location, and condition. The final price offer is provided only after the vehicle has been physically inspected by our team.
We pay directly to the vehicle owner via NEFT/RTGS transfer or by cheque.
The prices vary based on the weight of the vehicle. A heavier vehicle will fetch more money when it is scrapped.
CERO will verify the registered ownership of a vehicle before accepting it. This is important to prevent any form of fraud. So, only the registered owner can offer us their vehicle. Besides, the payment is made only to the registered owner.
If your vehicle is in running condition, it must have a valid insurance policy. If it is not, transit insurance can be issued and will cost you. If the vehicle is towed, there will be no need for insurance.
When you submit your ELV, we will require the following documents from you: RC book, PAN card of vehicle owner, address proof, and a cancelled cheque. Other vehicles may be requested on a case-to-case basis.
You must first obtain a duplicate RC or an official "Loss of Document" report from your local RTO before CERO can initiate the scrapping. A digital record on VAHAN is required, but the physical document or its legal replacement is mandatory for the RVSF to process the file.
To scrap an inherited vehicle, you must submit the original death certificate, a legal heir certificate, and an NOC signed by all other legal successors. These documents ensure that the Certificate of Deposit and scrap value are legally issued to the correct beneficiary.
If your RC still shows "Hypothecation," you must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the bank to CERO. Without this clearance, the RTO will not authorize the deregistration of the vehicle in the national database.
The Certification of Vehicle Scrapping is issued to the vehicle owner once the vehicle has been completely recycled. You can call us at our toll-free number 1800-267-6000 to learn about the status by sharing the vehicle registration number.
On submission of your vehicle to CERO, we will provide you with a Certificate of Deposit. Once vehicle is recycled completely, we will provide you with a Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping. It will have all the information about your vehicle and its date of recycling.
When you submit your vehicle for recycling, CERO will provide a Certificate of Deposit mentioning the vehicle details. We will also provide an assurance certificate which confirms that the vehicles will be used by us only for recycling purpose.
The Certificate of Deposit is issued when you hand over your vehicle to an authorized scrapper as proof of ownership transfer for incentives. In contrast, the Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping is only generated after the physical dismantling and final deregistration are completed in the VAHAN database.
A valid CoD entitles you to a registration fee waiver on your next new vehicle and up to a 25% concession on motor vehicle tax. This may vary based on geography, vehicle model and government policy.
Yes, the Indian government allows the CoD to be traded or sold to third parties through digital platforms if the original owner doesn't intend to buy a new vehicle. This allows scrap vehicle owners to monetize their incentives while providing buyers with discounts on new vehicle registrations.
A Certificate of Deposit is typically valid for 2-3 years (depending on the state policy) from the date of issuance to claim its benefits. It can be utilized once and must be linked to the VAHAN record of the new vehicle during the registration process.
